| IES550x family expands your 2-wire bus without the hassle |
Not just another Bus Buffer Our range of bus buffers will give you the ability to expand the reach of any I2C bus or similar 2-wire bus protocol. By using one of our bus buffers you will be able to increase the number of devices on the bus, implement hot-insertion design or simply just to increase the bus length. These buffers simplify system design and expandability. Hendon Semiconductors bus buffers have been designed to address the following problems often seen on a 2-wire bus system. - Bus buffers having large input-output offsets; leaves little margin for external noise or a loss in signal.
- Due to their large input-output offsets, these bus buffers can’t be inserted in multi-drop or back-to-back in a system.
- Problems can occur when the number of devices on the bus or the length of the bus lines has increased the capacitance to its maximum.
Plug our bus buffers in and see the results for yourself! |

| what is a bus buffer |
A 2-wire bus has 2 control lines to access a number of slaves on the bus.
Bus buffers are used to increase the reach of a 2-wire bus or to support an increased number of devices connected to the bus. The buffer extends the bus load limit by buffering both the SCL (Clock) and SDA (Data) lines. A bus buffer can be used to create bus ‘branches’ and each branch can be enabled independently and can be brought on-line in a predetermined sequence. Following is a typical Bus Buffer application
